MOON CROWNED 'RETURNING LORD'...

... in the US Senate! Just a teensy-weensy bit weird...

As a shining symbol of democracy, the United States capital is not ordinarily a place where coronations occur. So news that the Rev. Sun Myung Moon, the eccentric and exceedingly wealthy Korean-born businessman, donned a crown in a Senate office building and declared himself the Messiah while members of Congress watched is causing a bit of a stir.

One congressman, Representative Danny K. Davis, Democrat of Illinois, wore white gloves and carried a pillow holding one of two ornate gold crowns that were placed on the heads of Mr. Moon and his wife, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, at the ceremony, which took place March 23 and capped a reception billed as a peace awards banquet.

Mr. Davis says he held the wife's crown and was "a bit surprised" by Mr. Moon's Messiah remarks, which were delivered in Korean but accompanied by a written translation. In them, he said emperors, kings and presidents had "declared to all heaven and earth that Reverend Sun Myung Moon is none other than humanity's Savior, Messiah, Returning Lord and True Parent."

Why exactly the Hon. Mr. Davis allowed himself to be roped into this is very unclear. If he had remembered his trusty pocket US Constitution, he would have read in Article I, Section 9: No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State. I thought Republicans were the only ones getting duped by the Unification Pseudo-Religion.

Rep. Davis' web site says he "is a member and Deacon of the New Galilee M.B. Church. A public servant, a true public interest elected official." I won't dispute that, but I wonder if he took the time to learn about the Ambassadors for Peace group and their affiliation with "Reverend" Moon. The guy who broke this story, John Gorenfeld, has a long quote from Davis praising Moon and Ambassadors for Peace. Gorenfeld also reveals Democratic Rep. Charles Rangel's official proclamation recognizing the Moons as "True Parents." Another constitutional lapse. No impeachment is threatened, I gather.

Ambassadors for Peace wants to "tear down the cross" because it stands in the way of unification between Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Once Moon unites these religions he can unite the world in peace. Under his own benevolent leadership of course.

Here's a little nugget I found on a Unification web site. I was looking for some kind of definition for this term 'True Parent'. WARNING -- HERESY ALERT:

Tragically, though, Jesus was unjustly put to death on the cross, because he was not received by the people of Israel, whom God had chosen. The Messiah, Jesus, who should have restored the position of True Parents, then produced true children, and risen to the position of King of Kings, was prevented from establishing even the position of a true husband with God's Marriage Blessing. Because of this, he could not establish the position of True Parents or multiply true children. Instead he died on the cross.

The "Marriage of the Lamb" that the Book of Revelation in the New Testament speaks of is none other than the ceremony by which the Messiah receives a bride and forms a union of true husband and wife. If Judaism had received and attended Jesus at that time, then the world of God's earnest desire, the world of His original ideal of creation, the peaceful Kingdom of Heaven, would have been realized on the earth at that time through Jesus' kinsmen. As it was, the True Parent providence intended to be fulfilled by Jesus, the second Adam, was thwarted midway by the faithlessness of those who had been chosen. As a result, humankind was forced to wait for the Second Coming of the Messiah. Heaven, though, had mercy yet again on pitiful humankind.

Heaven gave its blessing for the Messiah of the Second Coming to appear on the foundation of the spiritual restoration Jesus carried out throughout the 2,000 years of Christian history. The returning Messiah comes with the incredible burden of completing the mission of True Parents. To accomplish his mission, he must first, above everything else, achieve victory over the satanic realm. He must then go on to achieve victory in the spiritual realm as well. He must fully engage the satanic and spiritual realms, both of which cannot be sensed through the five physical senses, and be victorious in the life-and-death battle to subjugate the devil, Satan. Additionally, he must win over the many religious and philosophical leaders who are in the spirit world. None of this, however, can be accomplished through forced subjugation. Centering on God's character of absolute love, he must convince them by revealing the universal principles of religion and the universe and in this way bring them to a natural surrender. Reverend Moon, who stands here before you, is the one who has appeared in this world bearing this incredible mission of the True Parent.

The phrase, "True Parent," does not appear in any encyclopedia. It is not a phrase that I created, nor is it something that anyone in the world can attach to my name easily. Instead, it is the destiny and blessing that Heaven has bestowed on my wife and me. The position of True Parent carries with it the vertical missions of Savior, Messiah, and returning Lord, responsibilities that have never been realized before in history or will ever be seen again in the future.

I don't know whether to be angry or sad at this. Unbelievable, but a direct fulfillment of the words of Christ.

"Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There he is!' do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. So, if they say to you, 'Look, he is in the wilderness,' do not go out. If they say, 'Look, he is in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather." [Matthew 24:23-28]

Again Mr. Moon directly contradicts the Lord Almighty, who declared that the cross was the foreordained will of God:

From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, "Far be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you." But he turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man." [Matthew 16:21-23]

Good Christian, take heed: Moon, the Unification Church, and Ambassadors for Peace are nothing less than antichrist.

Good Congressmen, please keep your coronations off the Capitol grounds, and leave your titles of nobility off official US letterhead, or be impeached as unfaithful to the oaths you have sworn to protect and defend our Constitution.

Traditional copyright and publishing systems focus exclusively on seeking profit from all form of duplication and usage and consider any form of trading or sharing illicit. This model is outdated and incompatible with the current technology (mp3, peer-to-peer file sharing, CD duplication). On a basic level we must question what life songs of worship have when disconnected with the local church. More so, we must question the most prominent business models for music distribution (“Christian” or otherwise) – models where usage is entirely dependant upon an exchange of currency (CCLI, ASCAP, BMI, etc.).

The Open Audio License (OAL) basically states that you, the worldwide public, are authorized to use, copy, publicly perform, distribute and create derivative works from all materiel covered under the license -- provided you always credit the original author information. That includes: the symbol (O) for the EFF Open Audio License, the identity of the original author, the title of the work and how the first listed original author can be contacted.

The OAL also states that any derivative work produced must also be released under the OAL. The license borrows language from the open source software initiative and the free software movement to create a community of sharing that benefits both the creators and the public while encouraging creativity through relational distribution.

We believe that this is a much more current business model for music. It acknowledges that there is no way to control how people use our materiel. It also acknowledges our lack of interest in seeking that control. This is especially appropriate as it relates to songs of worship. We have put much effort into our various studio recording projects and seek fair compensation for our CD’s.

This, however, is the only way in which we seek to be compensated. Outside of that, we place no limitation on how you want to use our material except that you acknowledge that we, Mars Hill Church, are the original creators. We strongly encourage musicians to consider these issues and release their materiel under the OAL. There really is only one way to rock. Listening to this group, I'm amazed, because I've always loved musicians like Sun Session-era Elvis, Johnny Cash, Cowboy Junkies, Lone Justice, Los Lobos, Roy Orbison, and Emmylou Harris, traces of all I hear in these Mars folks. Wonderful.
